Option B, the bolt-action shotgun, is not specifically banned in Maryland. However, it is restricted to those who have a valid Handgun Qualification License.

Option C, the lever-action rifle, is also not specifically banned in Maryland. It is legal to own with a valid Handgun Qualification License, but some models may be considered "assault long guns" and subject to further restrictions.

Option D, the AR-15 with HBAR configuration, is almost specifically banned in Maryland. While AR-15s are banned, an HBAR configuration (heavy barrel, targeting competition guns) can still be owned with a valid Handgun Qualification License.

Option A, the semiautomatic rifle with a fixed magazine capacity of 15 rounds, is the only option that is specifically banned for ownership in Maryland. This restriction was put in place in 2013 and refers to a specific type of firearm, not just a classification like "assault weapon." Other similar rifles with fixed magazines may also be banned.
